Utah Warrior Hockey Mission
The Utah Warriors Ice Hockey Program, Inc., has been organized to operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, for those wounded in defense of the United States in conjunction with the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Program. The Program’s mission is to organize and administer an ice hockey program that provides a recreational, therapeutic experience and education. Some of the program’s purposes include:

Educate, train, motivate and encourage individuals who have physical disabilities incurred during service to the United States, to participate in the sport of ice hockey in an environment that is adapted to the level of ability of the participating athletes.

Use the game of hockey to assist individuals with disabilities in developing self- confidence, adjusting to their new lifestyle, rehabilitation, self-reliance, and concentration, to assist in helping participants back into mainstream lifestyles they were accustomed to prior to their disability, and to help the individual be more successful both within and outside a hockey environment.

Integrate people with disabilities with people without disabilities to promote awareness of challenges and to encourage teambuilding.

Encourage the formation of Utah Warrior Hockey Programs’ locally and nationally.

Educate and encourage the general public about disability sports and Utah Warriors Ice Hockey in particular to promote societal awareness of the sacrifice’s participants made in defense of our nation.
Utah Warrior Hockey Organization Goals

Provide an environment to help players adjust to a post-trauma lifestyle through participation in a ice hockey program.

Provide weekly on-ice activities for players to participate in ice hockey practices, scrimmages and games as part of a medical rehabilitation regimen.

Offer players the experience of a competitive program within their post-trauma physical capabilities.

Provide a healthy social environment for players to adapt to their post-trauma lifestyle.

Teach players that they have value and can contribute to their community.

Educate the players’ communities regarding the varied difficulties US veterans experienced after their post-trauma rehabilitation.
Utah Warrior Hockey Organization

Utah Warriors Ice Hockey Program is staffed by volunteers, on-ice and off-ice mentors and directors, who do not receive any compensation, stipend or other remuneration for their time. Program administration expenses to date, except for government registration fees, represent less than 1% of program costs.

Our Employer Identification Number Federal is (84-1894440), issued on 05/28/2019 that granted our application for exemption from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. IRS determined that we are a public charity. The effective date of our exemption is 20190531. We are qualified to receive tax-deductible requests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.
